GUIDES AND REFERENCES

Morse light signals and aviation identifiers

Choose an educational reference for light timing, continuous SOS or documented aviation identifiers.

Choose the task before the signal

A light lesson demonstrates marks and dark gaps. A navigation identifier names a documented facility. A distress pattern has a particular continuous rhythm. These uses share a character system but do not have interchangeable operating procedures.

Start with HI in the light tool to see two separate character groups. Study continuous SOS in its dedicated comparison. For an aviation identifier, learn the letter pattern separately from the receiver and current facility documentation.

Two focused references

The visual guide compares on/off timing and ordinary letters with continuous SOS; it is an educational display reference. The aviation guide explains VOR/NDB identifier context and links to FAA documentation. Neither page is a field manual or a cockpit checklist.

Visibility, direction, weather and the receiving equipment affect optical communication. A browser demonstration cannot measure range or delivery. Likewise, hearing the correct example in a browser does not verify a live navigation facility. Follow current source documentation for operational questions.
